Welcome to the 97th edition of The Pixel Project’s VAW e-News Digest!
The epidemic of sexual violence in India drew international attention once again upon the discovery of a Japanese student who was raped near a Buddhist holy site.
Various cities and districts in India have an alarmingly high rate of violence, with New Delhi recording a two-fold increase in street crimes, an average of five women affected by sexual violence per day.
The Duke of York, Prince Andrew, was named in a lawsuit linking him to a sex trafficking ring involving minors. The lawsuit also names several other highly wealthy and influential figures, drawing attention to sex trafficking rings that cater to wealthy customers.
As we begin 2015, we recap the ten ways we talked about violence against women in 2014 and find out ways we can make violence against women unacceptable in 2015. Every contribution matters.
