Welcome to the 106th edition of The Pixel Project’s VAW e-News Digest!
There are nationwide protests across Argentina as people gather to rally against femicide, a form of violence against women in countries across Latin America. Also this fortnight sees Colombia making a move to eliminate it by approving a law against it.
In India activists find new ways to empower women against violence, through legal action, through education, and through the invention of smartphone apps. Violence against women, particularly sexual assault, continue to be a hot topic in the country. Recently, popular transport company Uber has its permit rejected after it is linked to sexual assault.
May 28 also marked the Day of Action for Women’s Health. Access to reproductive health is an important facet of women’s rights strongly related to violence against women.
