The Pixel Project Wall of Support – An Introduction

The Wall of Support features endorsements from people from all walks of life who support the The Pixel Project and the Violence Against Women cause.

Since our first mystery Nobel Prize Winning Celeb Male Role Model has already made his by way of his Public Service Announcement*, we thought: why not have EVERYBODY do one too?

So get your digital video recording cameras out and get busy! We want to hear from YOU!

*This Public Service Announcement will be unveiled when The Pixel Project’s mystery Celebrity Male Role Models are unveiled later in 2014.

Why video?

Unlike many campaigns that ask you to just sign a standard endorsement, The Pixel Project prefers video endorsements because it is more personal and authentic than just a sentence with your name or electronic signature tacked on at the end of it.

A YouTube video helps puts a human face and literally gives voice to everyone who supports the project and the cause.

We want to show that people from all walks of life, no matter where they are in the world, can come together to say: “It’s time to stop violence against women. Together.”

Together, we will create a global chorus of voices speaking out to end VAW.

So how does this work?

All we need is a bit of your time to record YOUR endorsement.

Then, just upload your endorsement video onto YouTube and send us the link to feature your video on the Wall of Support. You can email us your link here.

Do I have to do any fancy stuff with my video endorsement like music, fancy camera angles etc?

You can if you want to, but we recommend keeping it simple – just a digital video camera (or built-in webcam), a well-lit and quiet background and you looking straight at the camera and saying your piece in one take.
Even Nicole Kidman, UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador who has recorded a series of short Public Service Announcements for UNIFEM’s “Say NO – UNiTE” campaign just keeps it simple. Have a look here.
