Welcome to The Pixel Project’s volunteer position listings page! This is where we list major and crucial volunteer positions that become available – everyone working on The Pixel Project is a volunteer who is passionate about the cause to end violence against women, so you will be in good company! All potential volunteers should be strongly supportive of women’s human rights and our mission to end violence against women.

Depending on the role, the positions listed here generally require a commitment of between 3 to 10 hours per week and most volunteers begin with volunteering for 6 months (which would cover the duration of a campaign), Many stay for a year and beyond. We are notable for having a tight-knit team with many members working with us for five or more years in service of the cause to end violence against women.

Executive Team

Programme/Project Assistant – 1 – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 people to join our executive team. You would be working closely with our president/executive director to keep our campaigns, initiatives, and events on track.


Editorial & Writing Team 

Editor – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 female editors to join our editorial team that works on our annual “16 For 16” blog campaign, our “Inspirational Interview” blog interview campaign as well as articles and interviews throughout the year.

All applicants must submit a portfolio of their edited articles and writing samples.

In-house Writer – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 people to join our writing team that works on our annual “16 For 16” blog campaign as well as ad-hoc articles throughout the year.

All applicants must submit a portfolio of their published articles and writing samples.

In-house Interviewer – 1 position

The Pixel Project is looking for an interviewer to join our Inspirational Interview team which focuses on publishing a monthly long-form blog interview highlighting anti-violence against women activists, advocates, and organisations from around the world and the vital lifesaving work that they do in their countries and communities.

Livestream Team

Livestream Producer – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 women to join our all-female team of moderators and producers who run our Read For Pixels and Fathers For Pixels livestream series. Being geeky with a sense of humour would be a plus.


Creative Team

Graphic Designer – 1 position

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 graphic designer to produce the visual materials that The Pixel Project’s campaigns and programmes require. You will be working in tandem with another graphic designer, sharing graphic design assignments between you. Expertise in using PhotoShop and Gimp preferred.


Social Media Team

Twitter Maven – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 Twitter mavens to join our long-running Twitter Tag Team. You will be working in tandem 4 other Twitter Tag Team members to set tweets for our Twitter account.


Research Team

Researcher – 2 positions

The Pixel Project is looking for 1 – 2 people to join our research team that provides research support for our campaigns and programmes including tracking down, curating, and compiling relevant information.
